The Lovibond® Legionella system detects Legionella pneumophillia serogroup 1, the most common causative agent of Legionnaires disease in humans. Infection is via inhalation of aerosols containing the bacteria which causes a pneumonia-like disease that can prove fatal, especially in immuno suppressed individuals.

Non-oxidising biocides are used across industry to control microbiological activity in a wide range of water systems, often in rotation with oxidising biocides. Biocidal performance is concentration dependant, so it is essential to monitor the activity levels closely in any system to ensure microbiological control.

The Lovibond® non-oxidising biocide test kits are based on novel colorimetric or titrimetric procedures and are designed for use by nontechnical persons as a site-based aid. Accurate biocide levels can be measured in minutes to ensure continued system control.

Silt Density Index (SDI) Test Kit

The Silt Density Index (SDI) is a measure of the solids or particulate content of water and is of specific importance when commissioning reverse osmosis plant. The SDI of the feedwater is required to calculate membrane fouling time, backwash frequency and, ultimately, membrane lifespan. The Lovibond® test kit gives the RO engineer instant SDI values, increasing the speed and effectiveness of the installation.

The kit utilises a membrane/flow meter system to enable SDI calculations in just 15 minutes. Sufficient membranes included for 100 tests.
